ICR 2009 - Gold Medalist : Dr. Karim Vessal

It was a great honor for me to learn that I have been elected as recipient of the incipient award of our great Society. Likewise, I congradulate the scrutinizing election committee for paying due tribute to two of the outstanding colleagues for their much appreciated lifelong services to the promotion of radiology in our beloved country.
Despite long years of tireless endeavors, our academic achievements may reveal some minor shortcomings compared to our colleagues in the West, it is undisputble that the metrics for evaluation of scholars has been and will keep to be different, based on the intrinsic factors and values cherished by our local standards.
